ENTREVISTA
ReveLA tuvo la oportunidad de entrevistar a la directora de cine Malena Martínez, quien nos relata el proceso de su último documental “Hugo Blanco, Rio Profundo.” Esta obra cinematográfica aborda el complejo proceso histórico en el Perú de las organizaciones campesinas y grupos indígenas por la recuperación de sus tierras ancestrales ocupadas por hacendados, y la subsecuente reforma agraria. En un segundo momento, la directora nos lleva a través del personaje Hugo Blanco a descifrar sus trasegares y a reflexionar en tiempo presente sobre el histórico movimiento social, campesino e indígena.

MALENA MARTÍNEZ: “LA MEMORIA ENCUENTRA SUS FORMAS DE REACOMODAR LAS CONTRADICCIONES”

Entrevistamos a Malena Martínez Cabrera, cineasta peruana radicada en Viena, en el contexto en que muestra su film en Perú, en espacios donde usualmente no llega un cine de estreno, en realidad, donde no llega el cine. La directora viene aplicando una estrategia de distribución alternativa en provincias, con una perspectiva ajena al circuito de multicines, para tratar, sobre todo, de lograr que este documental sobre parte de la historia del país, pueda llegar a algunos de sus protagonistas, sobre todo a las zonas andinas, rurales y quechuahablantes donde se protagonizaron hechos significativos del despertar ideológico de la reforma agraria en los años sesenta. En la función en La Convención, en Cusco, territorio primigenio de esta lucha, el film tuvo 1700 asistentes.

This portrait has the primary virtue of dissociating these different revolutionary movements and redefining the battles that were Hugo Blanco's: a Trotskyist proletarian student in Argentina, a participant in the first agrarian reform in Peru, a member of the Peasant Confederation, the first peasant leader to sit in Congress, and a tireless activist for the indigenous cause.
