The myth of Casire tells that the "woman" volcano Sara Sara transformed Casire into a town of women when she realized that the men were responsible for the corruption in the town, caused by the presence of beautiful and passionate women. Christians arrived and decided to end the volcano's curse. The Virgin of the Snows, who appeared in Pichor, wished to remain among the stones of Casire to teach the women of Casire to sing. Thus, she created the Huaylías. From afar, men came, drawn by the songs.
