In 2015, I made a documentary that I initially called "Esposos" (Husbands) but later renamed "Unión civil: el derecho a ser feliz" (Civil Union: The Right to Be Happy, a series of interviews with members of the Peruvian LGBTQ+ community amid the controversy surrounding the civil union bill. Here you can see the testimonies of an activist mother, a congresswoman, a lesbian activist, a same-sex couple, and others, each with their own struggle for true equal rights in a still-conservative country.
