Two former classmates from Quito meet by chance in Panama City in 1985. They haven't seen each other since graduation, and although they were close back then, they've taken opposite paths: Esteban works in banking and is in Panama on business, not always legal. José Luis presents himself as a journalist but is actually a member of the Alfaro Vive ¡Carajo! guerrilla group, living underground while preparing a new operation in Ecuador: the kidnapping of a banker. These two characters sustain a narrative deeply rooted in the country's past.
